CONDITION OF HIGHWAY
ROTOMA HILL ROAD
REQUEST FOR IMPROVEMENT
[from our, own correspondent]
"WHAKATANE, Tuesday
The question of improving the Rotoma Hill road was discussed at a meeting of the Whakatane Chamber of Commerce, and it was decided to write to the Minister of Public Works pointing out the bad condition of the road and asking that it should receive attention immediately. It was pointed out that the road, which was a main highway of great importance, and carried the bulk of the traffic between Kotorua and Gisborne, was very much below the standard of the road put through to Te Whaiti, which carried an exceptionally small amount of traffic.
