LOST SOUTHERN CROSS
BUILDING OF NEW SHIP
WORK IN AUCKLAND URGED
A cablegram recommending that the vessel to replace- the wrecked Southern Cross should, be built in Auckland has been sent by the (finance of the Melanesian Mission Board to the committee representing the supporters of the mission in England. No reply had been received last evening. The cablegram stated that in view of the exchange position and quick delivery of the vessel it would be in the interests of the mission to have it built in Auckland.
