DAMAGE TO SCOW
CAUGHT BY A SQUALL [from our own correspondent] THAMES, Monday Caught by a squall when loading shingle at Waiaro Beach, Capo Colville, tho scow Wendell, owned by J. J. Craig, Limited, was pounded on the beach by tho gale, her bulwarks and sails being damaged. The position caused anxiety and the master telegraphed to Auckland lor assistance. A representative of the owners has gone to tho scene by motor-car.
