SUPPLY OF ELECTRICITY

EXTENSION TO COCKLE BAY An extension of the electricity supply in Cockle Bay, near Howick, was authorised by tho Auckland Electric-Power Board at a meeting yesterday, when the general manager, Mr. R. 11. Bartley, reported in favour of the extension. Mr. Bartley stated that the expenditure would bo between £6OO and £7OO, and to safeguard tho board a guarantee of £62 a year had been asked. The total revenue in sight was now £SO, and he was certain that the estimate of £62 would be comfortably reached. In anticipation of the board's sanction, preliminary preparations had been made so that tho supply would bo available during the coming holiday season.
