STREET PREACHERS

COMPLAINT AT ONEHUNGA A protest against street preachers was made by a ratepayer in a letter received by the Oneliunga Borough Council last evening. He stated : " I have asked them to moderate their tone, so as not to awaken my child." Mr. T. H. Ceraghty described one preacher as a " roarer," who had been debarred from speaking in the streets of Auckland city. Complaints by tho residents in the vicinity, he said, were general. One councillor said it was impossible to use a telephone in tho district while a preacher was speaking. It was decided to instruct the borough inspector to deal with the matter.
