AEROPLANE CRASH
ASSISTANCE OF RESIDENTS DENIAL OF SOUVENIR-HUNTING [by telegraph—press association] WELLINGTON, Thursday A strong denial pf a report that souvenir-hunters were active, among the wreckage following the discovery of the aeroplane crash yesterday was given by the secretary of the Wellington Aero Club, Mr. A. W. Nisbet, who said the local residents were far from causing trouble in this respect. They did everything possible to assist. Flight-Lieutenant Bolt salvaged everything of value and gave, away some useless pieces of fabric, said Mr. Nisbet. He burnt the remainder. The value of the 'aeroplane was estimated at £550. It was uninsured. He paid a tribute to the Director of Air Services, Squadron-Leader T. M. Wilkes, who' remained on duty until 2 a.m. yesterday organising a search and leading the party which brought back the bodies.
