BOATSHEDS BURNED
DINGHIES AND GEAR LOST OUTBREAK AT HOBSON BAY Fire, which broke out in a group of boatsheds in Hobson Bay, near the foot of Logan Terrace, shortly before 10.30 last evening, destroyed two with their contents, which included two dinghies and a quantity of boat gear. The Remuera Brigade prevented the outbreak from spreading to adjacent sheds and launches, and was able to withdraw two further dinghies to safety. The alarm was given by a person who had seen the glare from a distance, and who mistakenly sent the brigade to the foot of Arney Road. When the brigade arrived at the boatsheds the fire had obtained too strong a hold to save the sheds already burning, but a good save was made of two more sheds and of several launches near by. Ono launch, which had recently been repainted, was severely scorched on one side.
