NEW SOUTH WALES' LOAD FACTORS IN THE SITUATION SYDNEY, Sept. 23 The Auditor-General's report concerning the finances of New South Wales states that the public debt during the year increased by £23,750,000, bringing the total to £303,750,000. The receipts in the Unemployment Relief Fund for the 12 months were more than £6,000.000. compared with £4,250,000 for the previous year. Interest payments amounted to £15,726,989. Altogether 83 per cent of the unemployment relief tax was spent on food relief. The Family Endowment Fund failed to meet claims and expenses by £1,068,006, and at Juno 30 it was £2,498,978 overdrawn. Income tax decreased by £2,772,334, and at the closo of the year £1,413,699 was overdue, chiefly because of the barricading of the taxation office during the conflict with the Federal Government. Between 25 and 30 men were employed for five weeks at £6 10s each to guard the office.
