TASMAN CROSSING
MONOWAI'S NEW RECORD WELLINGTON TO SYDNEY SYDNEY. Sept. 23 The Monowai arrived at Sydney from Wellington at 10.30 a.m. to-day, establishing a new record across the Tasman by clipping three hours off her Own previous record. The Monowai recently made a very fast trip from San Francisco and arrived at Wellington last Sunday a day ahead of schedule. She has also made a number of fast- trips between Wellington and Sydney. Her record time for the passage between the two ports was 2 days 18 hours 43 minutes in January, 1931.
