LEAGUE OF MOTHERS
The Grey Lynn branch of the League of Mothers held the first meeting of its financial year on Wednesday. Mrs. Hynes presided over a good attendance of members, and formally welcomed the new officers for the year. A vote of sympathy was passed to Mrs. Gaughan, honorary treasurer, who was absent through illness. The speaker for the afternoon was Mrs. Jean Boswell, who addressed the gathering on the question of dismissing married women from their chosen occupations, emphasising the far-reaching effects which the present agitation was likely to have on the age old struggle of women for emancipation and complete the sexes in all spheres of economic life. The meeting concluded with afternoon tea.
