Mrs. T. F. Jolly, of Hamilton, is visiting Auckland and is staying at the Central Hotel.
Madame Galli Curci returned from Hamilton yesterday and is staying at the Grand Hotel.
Miss Margery England, of Rotorua, is spending an extended holiday with her parents in Auckland.
Nurso Grace Mackintosh has resigned from the nursing staff of the Tauranga hospital, and has left for India.
A delightful sefcial afternoon and "bring and buy" sale was arranged by the com' mittee of the Kumeu Presbyterian Home Mission to assist the funds for the annual budget. Mrs. Alexander welcomed the guests and declared the function opened. She was the recipient of a bouquet of, beautiful spring flowers., Humorous recitations by Mrs. Milligen and songs by Master Lawrence Moro were enjoyed. The Sroduce stall was in the hands of Mrs. . Wilson, Mrs. Perry and Mrs. Cullum, the fancy stall, Mrs. S. Ball and Mrs. Burrett, while afternoon tea arrangements were in the hands of Mrs. C. Boord, Miss Keay and helpers.
