SHEARING DISPUTE
REFUSAL OF OWNERS' OFFER
UNION'S ACTION ENDORSED
[by telegraph—own correspondent] DUNEDIN, Thursday
The position which has arisen through the failure to arrive at an agreement in the shearing industry at tho final conciliation council sitting was discussed at a special meeting of the agricultural and pastoral section of the Otago-Southland branch of the New Zealand Workers' Union.
A resolution was carried endorsing the action of the union in refusing to come to an agreement with, the sheepowners and accept the rates of pay offered and that individually they stood out for last year's rates, which, it was considered, the sheepowners were well able to pay.
