LAND GIVEN AWAY
SECTION AT GIBBORNE BUILDING SOCIETY BALLOT [BY TELEGRAPH—OWN CORRESPONDENT] GI6BQRNE, Thursday A section of land was given away at the annual meeting of the Gisborne Co-opera-tive Building Society. The chairman of directors, Mr. C. H. Ambridge, announced that in No. 3 group the society now owned a section on the corner of Childers and Chalmers Roads. Its original value was £llO, but the value now appeared in the balance-sheet at £SO. The society did not wish to be a landowner, and it had been decided to ballot for tho section. . . •«. >
Mr. H. A. Barton's was the first number drawn, and pending his acceptance or rejection other numbers were drawn.
