CHARGES OF THEFT
JOCKEY CLUB'S FUNDS || FORMER SECRETARY ARRESTED || REMANDED UNTIL MONDAY Arrested by Detective-Sergeant Martin;s|: in the city at 2.30 yesterday afternoon, Frederick Deuchar McVay, until recently secretary of the Takapuna Jockey Club, appeared later in the Police Court before J Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., on two charges of theft. He was charged with stealing from the club £204 5s 10d between July J 1, 1931, and Juno 23, 1932, and also with|| stealing £9 on June 1, 1932. On the application of Detective-Ser-I|| geant McHugh, accused was remanded j| until Monday. Counsel for accused said he did not in-|j| tend to ask for bail. On Monday, accused would plead guilt/ to all charges, andjjj would facilitate the case. ~
