LAUNCH'S LONG TRIP

BETH AT WHANGAROA PREPARATIONS FOR VOYAGE The ketch-rigged cruising launch Beth, which left Auckland on Saturday on the first stage of her voyage to Adelaide, passed Cape Brett at 5.10' p.m. on Wednesday and spent the night anchored in Deep Water Cove. She left at eight o'clock yesterday morning and reached Whangaroa about one o'clock, yesterday afternoon. In a special telephone message to the Herald last evening, 'Mr. Sidney Webb, a member of the crew, said that the launch would take on provisions and water at YVhangaroa and if favoured with good weather conditions, would sail for Norfolk Island on the first lap of her ocean voyag9 some time before the end of the week. Mr. Webb said the launch had experienced fine weather so far. As there was no hurry, final preparations would be made at Whangaroa before sailing.
