OTAHUHU ASSOCIATION Preparations for tho coming Beason were made at a meeting of the Otahuhn Cricket Association, there being representatives present from seven teams. Before commencing business, the chairman. Mr. F. \V. Grev. referred to tho death of the late Mr. B. P. Palmer, and a resolution of sympathy with his relatives was passed, members standing in silence. A comprehensive set of rules was presented by tho sub-committee sot up for this purpose, and, with one or two minor additions, was adopted. These will be circulated among the different teams. Tho question of providing further concrete pitches for the new season was fully discussed, and, in view of the expense entailod, it was decided to carry on with grass pitches and to make every effort to have them in good order for the opening of tha competitions, which is set down for Saturday, October 22. Last season nine teams played right through the competition, not one team defaulting a match. This year it is expected there will be at least two new teams entered. The question of starting a junior competition for tho yo'aths of tho -district was discussed, and consideration was deferred until tho annual meeting, which takes place to-day week. The meeting was largely attended and of a most enthusiastic nature. Tho chairman congratulated the club upon winning tho championship for tho second consecutivo year and also on a very successful year's operations. In addition to purchasing £l9 worth of gear, the club finished the year with a satisfactory credit balance. The election, of officers for tho ensuing year resulted as follows:—Patron. Mr. C. F.
