DEVONPORT SEWING GUILD

Tlio ladies of tho Devonport Scrying Guild held a social afternoon at the homo of Mrs. A. G. Lunn, Tui Street,, to mark tho winding-up of work for tlic season. All the members of the guild and some friends were present. On their behalf the Mayoress, Mrs. 11. F. W. Meikle, presented Mrs. Lunn with a handsome tray and said the articles from the guild were much appreciated at the Welfare Association depot. Mr. A. G. Lunn thanked the donors on behalf of his wife. Speaking as a vice-president of the Welfare Association, he said the records at the depot showed that the '' pride of place " belonged to the guild for the number of substantial articles sent in. He also expressed gratitude to the ladies of other guilds who forwarded suitablo requisites every week. A presentation was made to Mrs. Cowie for the most regular attendance on sowing days. Items were rendered by Mrs. Lunn, Mrs. Harrison, aud Mrs. Topliss, after which a delightful afternoon tea was served.
