WOMEN'S DIVISION

FARMERS' UNION Bay of Plenty.—The first quarterly meeting of the newly-formed Bay of Plenty Provincial executive council of the Women's Division of the New Zealand Farmers' Union was lield on Saturday in the Presbyterian Hall, Tauranga. The visitors were entertained at morning tea and lunch by the local branch committee. The best methods of working the "Bush Nurse" and "Bush Housekeeper" schemes in the province, were discussed. The questions of levies to the provincial fund, and the meeting of delegates' expenses were satisfactorily settled. Putaruru. —A full report of the annual danco was rendered, in which it was stated that a profit of approximately £ls remained. It was decided to place the full amount to the credit of the rest room fund. A demonstration of machine sewing was greatly appreciated. The exchange stall did a brisk business. Taneatua.—Mrs. Ball and Mrs. McCready were elected delegates to attend the first provincial executive meeting to be held in Tauranga,, and Mrs. Maddock and Mrs. E. Hill to attend the bush nurse and housekeeping conference in Auckland in September. A competition for the best marmalade was won by Mrs. J. Peebles, and another competition by Airs. E. Hill. Tokoroa. —Tt was announced that a sum of £2 from the proceeds of a recent dance would bo donated to the community chest. A competition was won by Mrs. Dewis.
