TAKANINI TRACK NEWS TEA TRADER SPRINTS FAST PALACE ALSO SHOWS DASH The weather nt Takanini on Saturday was cold and squally, but the middle grass track was in good order, although a trifle slow. A fair amount of fa3t work was performed. Greek Gold (Taylor) and Holl/ Lu (Jones) did a working gallop over seven furlongs in 1.33 2-5. They were accompanied over the last half-mile by Topstar (Grice). All three finished together and the last half-mile took 54 3-ss. The three-year-olda did their work pleasingly and Topstar also went freely. Prolyxo (Craig) and the Gay Shield— Phaola filly (Moore) jumped away at tho five furlongs to run two furlongs in 26 2-5s and three in 40s. The two-year-old was then pulled up and Prolyxo went on alone to complete five furlongs in 1.6 3-5.. The gallop was comparatively slow in the early Stages owing to a strong head wind having to be faced, but both of Bagby's charges showed that they are progressing satisfactorily. , ~ . Imperial Prince (Jones) and (Gilmer) ran seven furlongs in 1.44 4-5, speeding up only over the lust furlong. They hit out freely, but were under restraint throughout. , . , • . ~ Tea Trader (Walters) jumped away at the three furlongs, and, joined by High Comedy (Edwards) at the two furlongs, ran homo in 37 2-Ss.
