TAMAKI CLUB'S YEAR PRESENTATION OF PRIZES Tho Tamaki Yacht Club held its annual distribution of prizes and danco ir the Imperial Theatre, Kohimarama, on Saturday evening. There was a largo attendance of members aud visitors, including representatives from the various yacht and motorboat clubs on the Waitemata and Manukau. Apologies were received from the patron. Mr. E. 11. Davis, and the president, Mr. W. P. Endcan. M.P. The commodore, Mr. W. A. Wilkinson, a welcome to tho visitors and stated that although Tamaki was the "baby" club of the Waitemata he thought they would all agree that it was a fairly strong club. Five days were devoted to racing for all small classes. Tho contest for the Davis Cup, round Rangitoto and Motutapu. was won outright by Celox. Outboard racing was a feature of the regatta, largo entries being received. Referring to the site on Point Bastion for tho clubhouse Mr. Wilkinson said it was a historical one and when conditions warranted the club would erect a worthy successor to the old Maori pa which once stood .there. Tho coming season would see racing by the new Wakatere class and the club had agreed to hold races at each of its fixtures for the new boats. The club had tho goodwill of boatowners and ho hoped by strict attention to the racing dotails this would be retained for all times. In presenting tho prizes valued at £OO, tho harbourmaster, Captain H. H. Sergeant, congratulated tho club on its success and paid a tribute to tho excellent services rendered by tho commodore, his officers and committee. The Tamaki Club, said Captain Sergeant, was a young man's club, which catered for small boats only, and was worthy of support. Tho first prize-winners wero a3 follows: Mann, Maratea, Manene, Maroro, Swiftsuro, Sceptre. Rangi, Sybila, Meteor, Bamona, Doris, Ranui, Opah. Demon, Oi, Mee 100, lolanthe, Celox (Davis Cup), Chancit 11., Miss Clevedon, Lajou, Zip, It-Isn't-It. The Nixon Cup was won by the Waitemata Boating Club. PONSONBY MODEL CLUB Tho 'Ponsonby liodel Yacht Club held two races for model yachts during the weekend in,, St. Mary's boat harbour. The racing was very keen and interesting, especially in the first event, only one second separating tho first and second boats. Tho . finishing times were:— First Event. —Monarch, 3b 31m 10s; Avalon, 3b 34m lis; Hono. 3h 30m 40s; Enterprise, 3h 88m 30s; Wairiki, 3h 88m 40a; Hew a, 3h 38m 425; Nemutu, 3h 43m 20s.
