RIFLE SHOOTING

SERVICE MATCH AT PENROSE A match under service conditions was fired at Penrose by members of tho Auckland City Defence Rifle Club on Saturday afternoon. Tho practice consisted of five shots application and six shots at the running man target, from 200 yards, followed by ten rounds in 35 seconds, and ten snap at 300 yards. Tho-weather conditions wero splendid, although a fresh breeze from tho right had to bo considered. ' The outstanding performance of the day was tho score made by S. C. Wells on the snap-shooting disc, which consisted of five bulls and five inners, a total of 45 out of 50. Trophy points were secured by S. C. Wells (3). G. G. Kelly (2), and H. Simmonds (1).
