INVITATION HANDICAP RACE] An invitation handicap road race was conducted by the PapatOetoe Amateur Athletic and Cycle Club on Saturday over a course of 31 miles, extending from Papai toetoe to Clevedon and back. Thirty-three started. Fast times were made to the Clevedon turn with a strong following wind. ■A. Davies, off the limit, 15m, led at this point, but the ultimate placed riders. Hall and Pinfold, were only 3m 538 behind. The latter pair took 40m 15s to complete the 15 [ miles, while Dwight, Gordon and Robinson, i the scratch riders, clocked 40m ss. In a fast i sprint Hall came past Pinfold to win by three lengths, with the next three separated by a couple of lengths. Dwight went rapidly away from Gordon over the last furlong to gain time honours. The successful riders were:—J. R. Hall (Manukau), 4m 80s, 1: D. N. Pinfold 4m 30s, 2: C. Hansen (Manukau). 8m 3: G. Jones (Papatoetoe), 7m 4. Fastest time was registered by L. H. Dwight (Manukau), scr, in lh 3lm 3s, with H. V. Gordon (Manukau). scr, second fastest in lh 81m ss. Both riders were successful in breaking Pinfold's course record. The winner's time was lm 32m 253. AUCKLAND CLUB The Patron's Cup day was held bv the Auckland Cycle Club at Tamaki on Saturday. the event being a 25-miles handicap for a cup donated by the patron, Mr. H. E'dwrirtfo. There were 23 starters. The placed riders were:—G. Rollerson, Gm, 1; N. Healey, 6m, and F. Lowndes, 7m 455, dead-heat, 2: D. Storey, 3m 15s, 4. Time, 75m. Fastest time, S. !Litchfiel<3, sct, 71m 48s. * 1 • v; TAMAKI AMATEUR CLUB A senior race of 19i miles and a junior event of two miles were conducted by the Tamaki Amateur Club on Saturday. Results were:— Junior Race.—E. Hughes (scr). 5m 30s, 1: F. Crosby (20s). 5m 455, 2; T. Rrvfferty (30s), 5m '47s, 3. Hughes registered fastest time. Senior Race.—A. Dazed (8m), 59m, 1; L. Cooper (8m). 59m 30s. 2; G. Harvey (Gm), 59m 535, 3. Fastest time, E. Harrison, 55m 255. TAKAPUNA AMATEUR CLUB Senior and junior races were held by the Takapuna Amateur Cycling Club on Saturday with the following results:— Junior Race, 11 miles.—B. Evans (scr), 31m 51s, 1; T. Malonev (2m), 33m 51 2-ss, 2: O. McKee (scr). 31m 525, 3. Fastest time, Evans, 31m 51s. Senior Race, 22} miles.—E. Bacon (lm 30s), G3m 50s, 1; V. Blomfield (scr), C2m 20s, 2; G. AUCKLAND AMATEUR CLUB The Auckland Amateur Cycle Club decided its 50-miles road championship over the round-tho-harbour course on Saturday. A strong westerly wind hindered the competitors.
