MAIL LINER DELAYED

LARGE CARGO LOADED * BUTTER FOR HONOLULU Owing to the exceptionally large amount of cargo loaded at Auckland by the Royal Mail liner Niagara, the vessel did not sail for Vancouver until six o'clock last evening, seven hours later than her usual time of sailing. The bulk of the cargo comprised 57,000 cases of Australian dried fruit which were brought from Melbourne to Auckland on July 10 by the Union Com-, pany's steamer Kiwitea, and have been stored in the sheds on Prince's Wharf ever since. The fruit is for discharge at Vancouver. A further consignment of dried fruit which was taken from Australia to Fiji by one of the Union Company's transpacific steamers will be transhipped to the Niagara at Suva. Other cargo loaded at Auckland yesterday by the Niagara included nearly 900 boxes of butter. A quantity is for Honolulu and the remainder 'will be transhipped at that port for Shanghai. The Niagara also took a small quantity of frozen meat for Honolulu, and a considerable amount of general cargo for Island ports and Canada.
