PROSPECTING EXPEDITION.
JOURNEY TO UNKNOWN AREA. BRISBANE, July 12. The Chapman Prospecting Expedition left to-day for Camooweal on the first 1 stage of what is likely to prove a historic quest for gold in Central Australia. The party comprises 20 men, each an expert, in his own particular line, and will prospect over a wide area on the western side of Central Australia, which has never before been traversed owing to lack of water. /-^
The equipment includes an aeroplane, wireless, and photographic apparatus for recording the life of the aboriginal tribes who have never been in contact with white men. The expedition' will be absent six months.
