RECAPTURE OF A CITY.
CASUALTIES ON BOTH SIDES.
ALLEGED ATROCITIES. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received July 12, 7.35 p.m.) NEW YORK. July 11. Despatches from Lima, Peru, state that the northern city of Trujillo, which was seized last week by rebels, was recaptured by the Government forces to-day, after a fierce attack by land, sea and air. There were numerous losses on both sides.
Unconfirmed despatches state that many prominent citizens and military officials were killed by the revolutionaries, who had imprisoned thqm on taking over the city last Thursday. An official report says loyal troops were lynched.
