HIGH-PRICED STALLION.
SOLAR IO CHANGES HANDS. LONDON, July 11. The late Sir John Rutherford's ten-year-old stallion, Solario, by Gainsborough—Sun Worship, has been sold at Newmarket for 47,000 guineas. Lord Glanely purchased him on behalf of a small syndicate. This is believed to be the highcsti-price ever paid for a stallion at, Ruction. Sir John Rutherford bought Solario as a yearling for £3675, and later refused £IO,OOO offered by the Aga Khan.
