DAYLIGHT ROBBERIES.
MT. EDEN HOUSES ENTERED.
OCCUPANTS NOT DISTURBED
While the occupants were at home, a thief entered two houses in Wairiki Road, Mount Eden, shortly before noon yesterday and ransacked bedrooms in .search of money. The man, who was not detected during the robberies, obtained 22s 6d in cash from 80, Wairiki Road, but only secured 2s 6d from a handbag at No. 62.
In one case the front door of the house was left ajar and the thief was able to enter and make bis way into a front bedroom without being noticed by the occupants, who were it the rear of the house at the time. In the second house the man gained entrance to a bedroom through an open French window, leading off a front verandah. In both cases a thorough search was roade for money, but other valuables were riot touched.
