NORTH OTAGO TIMES.
FOUNDED 69 YEARS AGO
[BY TELE'CRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] OAMARU, Friday.
One of the oldest newspapers in the Dominion, the North Otago Times, will cease publication at tho end of July, the directors announcing that under tho present economic conditions the district served is too limited to maintain two daily newspapers. The Times was founded in. 1863 and has been a daily morning paper since 1876. Among those who have occupied the editorial chair during tho paper's long lifetime were Messrs. J. I). Sievwright, A. E. Lawrence and Arthur Vile. The present editor is Mr. Winton Keay.
