BREAKDOWN IN TUNNEL.
LYTTELTON ELECTRIC TRAIN.

As the. result of an electric locomotive breaking down, about 400 passengers on a workmen's train from Lyttclton to Chrislchureh were held up in the tunnel from 7.22 till 8.40 this morning> and the whole service was disorganised for several hours.
Tho trouble was duo to the driving wheel seizing. Eventually shunting •engines pulled tho train back to Lyttelton, and it left again about 0 o'clock, arriving without further mishap.
