GIFT OF A PARK.
FOUR ACRES AT RIVERHEAD. USE AS PLAYING AREA. An area of land at Riverhead, approximately four acres in extent, has been presented to the Waitemata County bv Mr. G. Bright, of Riverhead. It is to be used as a public reserve. In moving the acceptance of the gift at a, meeting of the County Council yesterday, Mr. L. Kerr-Tavlor said the property would bo most valuable as a playing area. Although the land would be vested in the county it would not be a charge on the council, as the Riverhead Parks Committee bad undertaken the responsibility of maintenance. The chairman of the committee would be the riding member for Kumeu, in which Riverhead was situated.
