WOMEN AND BILLIARDS.
SUITABLE TYPE OF FROCK. In view of the increasing popularity of billiards among women, tho typo of dress which would bo most convenient for them was described in an English paper by Mrs. Billingfon-Greig, organising secretary of the recently-held women's amateur billiards championship, which brought a record entry of 63. "The dress," she said, "should bo a high-necked, medium length garment of any material except taffeta, with no trimming, such as beads, sequins, or fringe, since these appendages are likely to catch on the table and injure it. "The skirt should he wide and neither too long nor too short, and preferably pleated. -Black is an ideal colour, though any shade which does not clash with the green of tho tables would bo equally suitable. "It should have sleeves, or if it is sleeveless, a small coatee would bo useful to wear over it as a protection against draughts. ."Gowns with sleeves should be roomy under tho arms, so as not to restrict the movements, of the.player. There should certainly be a pocket for. chalk. The footwear should have low heels to give the player a firm stance."
