Dr. M. M. Hockin, superintendent of the Waikato Hospital, has left Hamilton for a six months' visit to England. Dr. Hockin will represent the South Auckland division of the British Medical Association at the centenary conference of the association in London in July.

The Rev. J. W. Kemp, Minister of the Auckland Baptist Tabernacle, who left for Sydney yesterday by the Sierra, will take part in an evangelistic and Bible conference in connection with the opening of the Harbour Bridge. He will be absent from Auckland for a month.

Brigadiei- D. Macaulay, who is in charge of the men's social activities of the Salvation Army in New Zealand, arrived from Wellington yesterday. Commissioner and Mrs. J. Cunninghafn, Colonel L. Taylor, chief secretary, and Mrs. Taylor, Brigadier S. Church, editor of the War Cry, Brigadier A. Greene, immigration secretary, and Brigadier Walls, young people's secretary, will arrive this morning to meet the Salvation Army leader, General E. J. Higgins, and Mrs. Higgins, on their arrival by the Niagara on Monday.
