BURGLARY AT PONSONBY.
MERCER'S SHOP ENTERED. Goods valued at about £2O were stolen by burglars who broke into the shop of Mr. A. Iline, men's outfitter, near the Three Lamps, l'onsonby Road, during Thursday night. Thero were signs that the intruders gained an entrance by forcing a- window at the back of the shop. "When Mr. Hine made an examination of his stock yesterday morning he found that a quantity of clothing had been taken, the thieves ap* patently having made a careful selection of tho articles they required. This shop was broken into about a year ago, when goods to a greater value were taken, and it is suspected that, in recent months other attempts have been made to gain an entry.
