BOYS FOR FARMS.

Sir,—The work being carried on by the Future Farmers' Committee is, in our opinion, of the utmost importance in relation to the general relief activities in which so many organisations are participating. Tho following incident which has occurred during tho past few days will illustrate my meaning. A mother called at the committee's office in connection with finding employment for her son who appeared"* suitable foe country life, and when informed that, owing to his lack of experience, his wages would not exceed 5s a week to start wfth, she replied, "I do not think his father would agree to that." The father is one of the unemployed, '-and doing occasional relief work." In my view, in a case of this sort, it should be the necessary precedent of relief that every member of the family be subject to review in relation to the possibility of his or her finding some work, and in view of the fact that we have already taken from the congested city areas and placed in remunerative work ia the country some 150 lads, who are not only earning wages, part of which should come back to their families, but they themselves are provided for outside of the relief funds of the city, I think we should be entitled to adequate recognition and the potential value of our activities ..taken into consideration by the social organisations operating.
