Fishing during the past week has been fairly good, arid each week shows a marked improvement in (he quality of the fish. The Outlet is fishing well, and some very nice catches have been taken here. Two anglers fly-fishing from the rocks at the Pines (Taupo Bay) secured their limit. The launches have also secured several limits.
The heavy rains of last week-end will improve the river fishing, especially tho Tongariro, which was not fishabio for two days last week. Dry fly fishing is hard. Two splendid specimens were taken some days ago above the. Huka Falls, weighing 9jlb. and 9^lb. The Tongariro River is still fairly hard, but one angler took 11 particularly good fish out of Grace's Pool. The Delta is fishing very well, a large number of rods operating. Several limits were token. The Tauranga-Taupo has been little fished but the few anglers there are doing fairly well.
Tho Waitahanui is fishing well when tho weather is suitable. Some very fineconditioned fish have been taken, the best weight for the week being 101b.
