PRISONER'S ILLNESS.
CUDBY AGAIN REMANDED. MAY LOSE REMAINING EYE. A further remand was granted by Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., in the Police Court yesterday, in the case of Roy George Cudbv, aged 28, labourer, who is charged with being a rogue and a vagabond, in that ho escaped from lawful custody on February 2. Cudbv, who is a prisoner, was an inmate of the Auckland Hospital at the time of his escape. While in hospital ho underwent an operation for the removal of one of his eyes. In asking for an extended remand counsel said Cudby was still in hospital and was in danger of losing the sight of his remaining eye. Prisoner was remanded to appear on March 24.
