CHAMPION DOG'S DEATH.
COLLAPSE ON WAY TO SHOW.
LOSS OF VALUABLE ANIMAL. ONE OF FAMILY WINS AWARD. An imported champ : on bulldog, Champion Bonny Jock, which won tlio highest award in Auckland two years ago. died on its way from Hawke's Bay to Auckland, where it was to bo exhibited at the show now being held by the Auckland Kennel Club at the Epsom Show Grounds. The bulldog, which was owned by Mr. J. B. Wainscott, of Taradalo, died in its box while being sent from Hastings to Auckland. The animal had gained numerous prizes in the Dominion after its importation from England about four years ago at a cost of 150 guineas. The dog was eight years old. Two years ago it secured the award as tho best dog of all breeds exhibited at the Auckland Show. Its progeny has been prominent in prize lists at recent shows, and oric representative. Mr. J. Bees' Champion Bon Jour Digger, yesterday won tho award tor the best bulldog in the show.
'•'The death of Bonny Jock is a serious loss," said Mr. G. Hunt, secretary of the Auckland Kennel Club, yesterday. "He was a splendid type of bulldog."
