DROWNING ACCIDENT.
SINGLE MAN'S DEATH. CARTING ACROSS CREEK. [BY TELEGRAFH. —rKESS ASSOCIATION*.] ELOKITIKA. Wednesday. While engaged in carting frpm Okarito. South Westland, to the Five-Mile Beach last evening, Mr. \\ illiam Matthews, single, aged about 33 years, got into difficulties in the, Three-Mile Creek, and was drowned. One of his horses was drowned, but a second horse reached the shore. Mr. Matthews' body was later recovered. He has no known relatives in New Zealand.
