ROTORUA HIGH SCHOOL.
OLD PUPILS' ASSOCIATION. [BY telegraph.—OWN correspondent.] ROTORUA, Wednesday. The .Rotorua High School Old Pupils' Association held its annual meeting last evening, Mr. J. E. Learning presiding. The balance-sheet showed a credit balance of over £B, which was considered very satisfactory. Congratulations were extended to Mr. R. G. Webb and the school shootings team on their success in the Weekly Press challenge shield competition. Officers were elected as follows:—President, Mr. W. J. Harwood: vice-presidents, Miss E. A. Simmers and Mr. R. G. Webb; girls' secretary, Miss T. Johnson; boys secretary, Mr. A. Cottrell; treasurer, Mr. A. P. Gainsford; auditor, Mr. A. J. Speer. THE NEW HEADMASTER. PRESENT POST RELINQUISHED. The resignation of Mr. W. G. Harwood, senior science master at. the Auckland Grammar School, who has accepted the position of headmaster of the Rotorua High School, was accepted by the Auckland Grammar School Board yesterday. It will take effect from the end of this month. The chairman, Professor A. P. W. Thomas, said it was with regret that Mr. Harwood's resignation was accepted. MrHarwood has previously bold positions as assistant at the Gisborne High School and at Wellington College. No appointment of a successor has vet been made.
