BANKING IN GERMANY.
NEW CREDIT FACILITIES. CONSOLIDATED PROJECT. (Received February 23. 5.5 p.m.) BE RUN, Feb. 22. Tlio President, Marshal von liindenburg lists signed an emergency decree to enable (110 banks to extend £20.000.000 of credit by providing that the Government may participate in the scheme up to £12,500,000. The capital of the. Gold Discount Bank will be doubled making it £20,000,000. A merger of the Darmstadter und National Bank with the Dresdner Bank, the Com inc.ry, und Privat Bank and the Banner Bankverein is being arranged, preparatory to a general consideration. Herr Dietrich, Minister of Finance, says the banks have been subjected to a thorough cleansing process. They would liave to repay money lent by the Reich, in accordance with a fixed plan. The standstill agreement removed all danger from abroad, thus the meafiuurcs taken would give the banks new life.
