ANXIETY FOR AIRMEN.

OVERDUE AT ATHENS. HAMILTON AND COUPLAND, (Received February 21, 5.3 p.m.) ATHENS. Feb. 20. Anxiety is felt for Flight-Lieutenant L. Hamilton and Flying-Officer R. K. Coupland, who left England on Thursday on a flight to Australia and back. Ihey are overdue afc Athens from Home. A message from the Italian capital says the airmen arrived there yesterday 15 hours behind their schedule and departed for Athens. Prior to leaving Rome th; 3 fliers said their machine had dropped like a stono from an altitude of 1000 feet after passing Genoa. The contents of the aeroplane were hurled against the ceiling, stunning the pilot, Hamilton, and cutting the heads of both airmen. Hamilton recovered, climbed and swerved in time to avoid a snowclad hilltop. The pilot landed on a deserted emergency flying field at Grqsseto, where h® and his companion spent the night.
