WEEK-END SPORT.
MANY ATTRACTIONS. TROTTING AND RACING. A wide variety of attractions hns been fixer] for the week-end, ranging from the thrilling spectacle of horse-racing to the pastime of visiting the Auckland dng show. Two race meetings will take place to-day and on Monday the Auckland Trotting Club's fixture at Alexandra Park, Epsom, and the Waikato Racing Club's gathering at Te Rapa, Hamilton. The A grade tennis finals of the Caro Cup competition will be held this afternoon at the Stanley Street courts, when Remuera is to play Eden and Epsom. The Auckland Cricket Association will hold senior games at Eden Park and North Shore, and the Suburban Association's matches will be played at the Domain. There is an amateur athletic meeting at Papatoetoe. The Devonport Yacht Club's annual regatta will take place this afternoon and all classes are catered for. A, B, C and E classes will compete for the Duder Cup. In addition, races have been arranged for naval whalers and Tauranga midget class. Rowing clubs on the Waitemata will compete for the Brett Memorial trophy, the Mason Pair and the Nixon Cup. Club and inter-club bowling matches will be held throughout Auckland. The final summer golf competition is to be played at Middlemore to-day. In the evening the many new programmes at the picture theatres should be a great attraction and Aucklanders will enjoy dancing at the cabarets. There is also a large programme of events at the speedway.
