LANG'S ATTACK.
REPLY BY MR. BRUCE. " TRAGIC SHORTCOMINGS." (Eeceived February 5. 12.35 a.m.) MELBOURNE. Feb. 4. The .Assistant Federal Treasurer. Mr. S. M. Bruce, to-day replied to Mr. Lang's criticism to the effect that he (Mr. Bruce) was the actual leader of the Federal Government, not, Mr. J. A. Lyons. Mr. Bruce said: "Mr. Lyons is Prime Minister in the fullest and most complete sense. He holds the confidence of the people of Australia to a decree seldom accorded to any political leader. lam proud to serve in the Government he is leading Mr. Lang's references to unemployment were a tissue of lies and misrepresentation, designed to divert the minds of the electors of East Sydney from his own tragic shortcomings.
