CLOSING SMALL SCHOOLS.
VERY FEW INSTANCES. INFORMATION FOR FARMERS. [BY TELEGRAPH. —rRF.SS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, Thursday. A definite assurance as to the fate of small schools was received from* tho Minister of Education, the Hon. R. Masters, to-day by the Dominion executive of the Farmers' Union. The Minister" said in reply to a request for information that the only schools it was proposed to close were very small grade 0 schools, (hose with an enrolment of less than six pupils, but none of those would bo closed before all the circumstances were considered, and then only when it was evident that the pupils would receive a better education through tho correspondenco school. Tho reply was regarded as satisfactory.
