SENATE EVENING.
Sir Thomas and Lady Sidey worn At Homo a), their residence, Oorstorphitio, in honour of tho members of (ho New Zealand University Senate, which sat in Duncdin recently. In (lie beautiful setting of this charming old homo and garden, a most delightful time was spent hy the many visitors. Sir Thomas and Lady Sidey received the guests in the drawing room, where the decorations were carried out in rose pink geraniums, sweet peas, and feathery asparagus fern, Tlio entrance hall, with its cosy log firo, was arranged with howls of tall blue delphiniums, and the dining room, where ii delicious supper was served, looked particularly attractive, crimson and white sweet, peas in crystal vases forming the floral decorative scheme. During tlio evening delightful music was provided hy an orchestra in the entrance lounge. Visitors were present from all parts of tho Dominion, and a delightful time was spent by tho guests.
