LATE CAPTAIN STICHBURY.
EMPIRE VETERANS' TRIBUTE. Reference to the loss sustained by the King's Empire Veterans by the death of the late Captain James Stichbury was made afc the annual meeting of the veterans yesterday. Captain H. Baby, who was elected to succeed Captain Stiehbury as commandant, said the veterans had lost a friend who had won-their highest admiration and esteem. A good work had been done by the organisation under his guidance. A brotherhood had been formed and the hearts of mahy had been gladdened. best tribute to the memory of their late comrade would be to endeavour to continue the good work he had done since the inception of the organisation 30 years ago. A motion of condolenco with Captain Stichbury's family was carried. \
