WITHDRAWAL OF GRANT, [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.]" WELLINGTON, Wednesday. In view of the urgent demand for economy, no hope is held out by the Minister of Education, the Hon. R. Masters, for the restoration of the annual' Government grant of £l5O toward the maintenance of the public schools library system in the Wellington district. A deputation lepresenting the Wellington Federation of Educational Associations waited on the Minister to-day with a request for t+e replacement of the grant. The Minister said that if the grant were made in Wellington he would have to restore those made in ether districts, which would involve an annual commit-, mcnt of about £3500.
