MOTIONS OF CONDOLENCE.
At a meeting of the Auckland branch of the National Council cf Women hold last evening a resolution of regret at the passing of Mrs. Charles Smith was passed, members standing in silence. Miss Melville said that Mrs. Smith had been a member of the council for many years and had been one. of tho most publicspirited women in Auckland. She had also been remarkably broadminded.
Another motion was passed of sympathy with Mr. and Mrs. J. Stanton in the death of their son, Mr. Warwick Stanton, and also of sympathy with Mr. and Mrs. J. T. F. Mitchell in the loss of their daughter, Miss Mary Mitchell.
