TEAMS MATCH AT PENROSE. WIN FOR CITY DEFENCE CLUB. The return teams match between the Auckland City Defence and Akarana Defence Rifle Clubs was scheduled to take place on Saturday at Penrose over 500 yds and 600 yds. but the inclement weather discouraged many of the members from attending the range. However, with an improvement in the conditions at noon a fair number of riflemen gathered at the range only to find that half the selected team were not in attendance. Through the courtesy of the Akarana Club a fresh post entry team was selected and the A t<*itr3 went to the firing point and the match was shot in fair weather. At 500 yds Akarana held one point lead, Sinimonds. the city crack, dropping four points at this range by firing on the wrong target.
