FINDING OF GIRL'S BODY.
COST OF EXCAVATIONS. PAYMENT OF RELIEF WAGES. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, Thursday. So far the cost of the excavations carried out by the Police Department in connection with the finding of the body of the girl' Phillis Symons on the relief works on the town belt have been borne by the Wellington Citizens' Unemployment Committee. At the meeting of the committee today it was decided to apply for a refund of the wages of the men engaged on the work. It was stated that between 80 and 100 men had been employed by the police for several days and the Police Department should be made to pay for the work.
